# 5 Reasons Blended Learning Could Be Right for You

## Why investing in Blended Learning means investing in yourself

[Blended Learning](https://arden.ac.uk/knowledge-base/learning-styles/blended-learning/what-blended-learning) is a modern way of learning, combining traditional classroom study with the flexibility of online learning. Here are five reasons why blended learning could be the way forward for you:

## 1. You save time

Instead of losing time commuting to lectures five times a week, you only have to be in a physical classroom twice a week, for 8 hours in total – the rest of your study (25.5 hours a week) is completed flexibly through online learning, so you can study at home or on-the-go, and perhaps even keep up some work commitments alongside your degree.

In addition to your online study, you’ll attend eight hours of classes at one of our Blended Learning UK [study centres](https://arden.ac.uk/where-to-study) in London, Birmingham or Manchester, or at our German study centre Berlin. Here, your tutor will review course materials you have studied online, answer any questions you have, encourage topical debates and engage you in classroom activities which will deepen your knowledge of your chosen subject.

**Here’s an example undergraduate timetable, which can help you understand how a Blended Learning degree might fit around your life:**

## 2. You save money

With university fees going through the roof, blended learning is a great way to [save money](https://arden.ac.uk/knowledge-base/student-life/student-loans/how-get-degree-without-breaking-bank). A blended learning degree could cost you up to a third less than a traditional uni degree. You’d still be eligible for a tuition fee loan and maintenance loan; however, with low fees and a full or part-time job, you could graduate debt free!

## 3. You spend more time in class asking the right questions

With blended learning, your time in the classroom becomes more active, engaging and interesting because there is less pressure to cover all the content. Instead, the online space can be used to deliver the theories, lectures and required reading. This allows more flexibility as you can spend more time working on and discussing productive tasks related to the subject matter.

## 4. You keep up-to-date with latest industry news

As most of the study materials are available online, tutors can quickly update and tweak materials to reflect any changes in industry trends –so you can be confident that your degree is fit for the modern workplace!

## 5. You increase 1-2-1 interactions

Lecturers can use online tools to engage in conversations with students they may not normally have. So if you’re shy or anxious about speaking in class, online discussion forums provide easy access to the lecturer and fellow students in real time. You can also post questions and get answers outside the confines of a normal university day – now, that’s a massive bonus!
